Internships

internship
Becoming an intern is a great way to invest in your future. CHS’ internships are unique in that you are given the opportunity to work directly with survivors just like our staff and volunteer advocates. All interns must complete our advocate training before they can start their internship.

How do I intern with CHS?
To intern with CHS you must complete an volunteer application and attend CHS Advocate Training. The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you with further instructions.

I’ve been accepted as an intern, what do I do now?
You will meet with the Volunteer Coordinator to go over the requirements for your internship. All interns are required to attend CHS’s Advocate Training and become volunteer advocates. For more information on what training entails, visit the Advocate Training page.

What types of things will I be doing during my internship?
If an intern has completed CHS Advocate Training, they have the opportunity to work with victims and survivors directly. Interns also help our staff with assisting in supporting survivors, assisting in our donation center, and other special projects as assigned.

Are there due dates to apply for an internship with CHS?
For a someone to begin their internship, they must have already completed CHS Advocate Training. This means reaching out a couple of months before you would like to complete your internship to plan ahead.
